Shannon Osask

Shannon is a Registered Psychologist (Provisional) with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists and is working under supervision as she completes licensure requirements.  

Shannon brings 20 years of experience working with children as an educator to her role at Moose Jaw Psychology Services.  Throughout her teaching career Shannon worked in a variety of positions which provided her with a strong foundation in child development, learning, and support as well as extensive hands-on experience working with neurodivergent children. She holds a Bachelor degree in Education and a Master degree in Education focusing in Educational Psychology, both from the University of Regina.

Shannon’s approach to therapy is person-centered, grounded in the belief that a strong, non-judgmental therapeutic relationship is essential to meaningful change.  Shannon tailors each client’s therapy to their specific needs and ensures clients understand the approach she will use in order to help them reach their goals.  Shannon is passionate about using evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), play-based interventions, and mindfulness-based approaches along with psychoeducation to build upon clients strengths.

Issues: Anxiety, depression, trauma, behaviour concerns, emotional regulation, interpersonal challenges, neurodivergence 

Types of assessment: Psychological assessments to assess for neurodevelopmental disorders and psycho-educational assessments to assess for specific learning disorders, and intellectual developmental disorder.
