Jaimie Atkins

M.Sc-SLP(C), Speech Language Pathologist, Registered SK

Speech Language Pathologist

I am excited to support Moose Jaw Psychology Services to collaborate on multi-disciplinary autism assessments. Autism assessments involved detailed observations and consideration for verbal and non-verbal communication patterns. As a Speech Language Pathologist I am specially trained in all things communication!

Though I offer comprehensive speech and language services at Prairie Basic Speech and Language, you can find me supporting psychologists at Moose Jaw Psychology Services to offer multi-disciplinary Autism assessments.

Supporting a child who has communication difficulties can feel overwhelming for parents, especially when the child is experiencing frustration or has difficulty participating in school activities or connecting with family and friends.

Providing comprehensive perspectives on behaviour, social engagement, verbal and nonverbal communication during the assessment process is helpful in ensuring a comprehensive and complete evaluation for children and their families. My involvement is determined on a case-by-case basis by the assessing psychologist.

My goal is to empower parents to nurture their child’s communication development through positive and enjoyable activities, and help parents feel capable and optimistic about supporting their child’s communication!
